About Satyananda YogaSatyananda Yoga is a system developed by Swami Satyananda Saraswati which incorporates practices derived from ancient sources, presented to the modern society in a practical and scientific form. Satyananda Yoga encompasses all the major branches of yoga, including hatha, karma, bhakti, jnana and raja yogas. By approaching all aspects of the human being - body, mind, emotions and psyche - Satyananda Yoga leads the practitioner towards a more harmonious and balanced state. The yogic science was developed in the foothills of Himalaya, in India and its subcontinent at least 5000 years ago by the sages and seers of that era. As the time rolled on, yogic practices branched out into many forms, such as Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Mantra Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Karma Yoga, Laya Yoga and so on. Different schools emphasize on specific forms of yoga whereas some offer a synthesis of yoga for the wholesome development of mind, body and emotions. One of the most respected and traditional system of yoga was propagated by Bihar School of Yoga (also known as Bihar Yoga & Satyananda Yoga) which now you can learn from Avisek Majumdar in Timisoara and Bucharest. | |
